Q: What is your educational and business background?

Prior to joining TPG, I worked as a project coordinator at the Beijing CBD Chamber of Media Industry writing news reports, performing media monitoring and maintaining the company's website. Prior to that I worked at the Hubei Provincial Finance Bureau, where I verified application materials about separation, merger and establishment of assets assessment companies and supported their assets disposal team.

I have a master's degree in social policy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a bachelor's degree in public administration (foreign-related economic affairs management) from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing.

Q: What type of support do you provide for the clients?

In addition to general office administration, I typically provide our clients with tactical and logistics support as well as translations and industry intelligence through media and peer monitoring. Given my background in media, I help our clients by making sure they have the necessary information about the industry and their peers to ensure delivery of the most relevant industry trends.

Q: How does working for an investor relations agency compare with your prior experience?

It’s exciting to work for an investor relations agency. Working with publicly listed companies from various industries provides me opportunities to know more about the most current news for a variety of industries. I'm constantly accumulating more knowledge. I'm becoming a specialist in time management and prioritizing. These are very important for professionals in an investor relations agency. You have to think and perform quickly, which makes me even more energetic and efficient.

Q: Do you think it is important for public companies in China to have an investor relations function?

Yes. Definitely. There are many China-based public companies. However, investor relations is a fairly new industry in China, but a growing one. Investor relations is a very specialized and important function. It provides a bridge to connect management and investors through strategic messaging and communications, an area where management teams may not always be focused. Good investor relations also helps improve the credibility of management teams and increases their accessibility to the Street.

Q: Outside of work, what types of activities do you enjoy?

During holidays, I like to travel to interesting places, both in China and abroad. I like to visit various natural landscapes and countries with different cultural heritage than my own. I value spending time with local people to experience and better understand their lifestyle. I am also interested in social welfare activities. I love to volunteer and I participate in various non-profit organizations. I also study practices and policies of social enterprises.
